Willem Verbeeck - Walking Svalbard
Willem Verbeeck explored the most nordic town, Svalbard. Here he made a photobook called “Walking Svalbard” which includes 37 color images which were a mix of digital and analog pictures. This is one of my all time favorite series, might I add that I have not explored a ton yet. Either way this series gives me a super moody, cozy and warm feel. Even though it was super cold outside when taking these pictures. The lighting and composition makes me very calm. This is because most of the lighting situations are really soft and the color tones in most pictures are quite warm. This is mostly because of the wood being used in the architecture and the warm, yellow/orange lights that light up most of the houses. Night photography is something I wanna explore more, Willem certainly is well on his way to mastering it.
